UKBA file and Immigration Officer

Post by samira_uk » Thu Jul 05, 2012 11:17 pm

Dear All,

I am traveling outside the UK usually two times a year and so far I have not had any problem at the airport. But as I read the other posts in the forum there are applicants who encountered problems when applying to UKBA due to file open or other problems in their records. My questions is that if Immigration Office access to such files and problems and if yes why s/he does not inform the immigrant about them?

For example, if the immigration leave was curtailed, it is knows to immigration office and s/he could refuse entry in the next entry to the UK?

Or these information are only kept in HO and the only way to know them is to request SAR?

Thank you

Yes, obviously if your leave has been curtailed by the UKBA, this will be known to the Immigration officer who greets you on arrival. They scan your machine-readable passport and the screen lights-up like a Christmas tree with all your relevant details.
