My pay slip basicllay looks like the followiong pattern...
Total gross pay:XXXX
Gross for Tax:XXXXX
in total gross pay some allowences are added under T&S scheme which is actually to pay less tax. this allowence actually doesnt get to me and deducted before the net pay but ofcourse get added into the TOTAL GROSS PAY and GROSS FOR TAX is less than TOTAL GROSS PAY.
i did have my initiall tier 1 general approved and case worker did actually approved and consider my TOTAL GROSS PAY figure with allowences (which i really dont get it is just the scheme of paying less tax)....
my question is as my extension is approaching i am still working under the same employer and my pay slips are still the same.
Does this criteria realy stands the same for my extension r is it possible that the case worker i will get now might consider GROSS FOR TAX instead of TOTAL GROSS PAY which is more and actualy making the magic figure.
I will claim the amount which is obviously more that is TOTAL GROSS PAY rather than GROSS FOR TAX....
considering the fact that i got my original visa under the same payslis by considering TOTAL GROSS PAY....will this time it will be the same as well.
just in case if HO comes with any objection can i challenge them later saying that i did have the visa originally by TOTAL GROSS PAY which was considered.
Please help and sorry for so much writing

Tier 1 (General) policy guidance wrote:92. We will assess an applicant’s earnings. If an applicant is in salaried employment, (including a Director of a company for example)
we will assess the applicant’s gross salary before tax.

thanks you so much for the replies.
i am confused because my salary slip says 2 type of GROSS pay. one is TOTAL GROSS PAY and the other is GROSS FOR TAX......Actually GROSS FOR TAX is less than TOTAL GROSS PAY.....
My initiall application was succesful and case worker did consider TOTAL GROSS PAY (that includes allowences which are not taxable)...
Will they definately again consider in the extension the same TOTAL GROSS PAY or they can challenge this saying that the are not taxable and consider the other one...........
Because they have consider TOTAL GROSS PAY initially is it a must that they will again consider the same or it might change.....this time

What if you consider only GROSS FOR TAX .Does that give you sufficient points ?

The total Gross pay can be more than the total taxable pay if you contribute to a pension or receive any non-taxable benefits such as employer sponsored health insurance. For the purposes of previous earnings PBS calculations the total gross pay is what is considered.

thanks very much for the replies.
Actually i was only worried because i came to know that it depends on the case workers how they take up the case ...that is why i was bit freaking out about this problem....
just wanna know that if the case worker will look into how i got my initiall visa approved (considering the TOTAL GROSS PAY) hope fully he will do the same as well for extension...if he decided not ot can i challenge him saying that my initialll successful application was based on TOTAL GROSS PAY and not on GROSS FOR TAX so he should consider TOTAL GROSS PAY.
Thank You
