Hi there. On your first visa sticker (or card) do you read anything like "police registration required"? If so, you must have done this within 7 days upon first entry to the country. You also need to update it if your change your address etc. Same for your spouse.
If there is nothing like that in your visa, never mind.

you can apply for it in any police station. this takes few days.
also check your last visa vignette if it is different from the first one. if it says register with police you must have done this.

Hi

There's no such rules I've heard any where that you need to apply for a Police registration certificate. So you dont really need one to apply for your ILR I've read nearly hundreds of cases on this forum and never ever heard any member submitting a Police Registration certificate for their ILR application.

So I am affraid the information what you've received in the reply in this thread is totally wrong you don't need a Police Registration Certificate at all for your ILR application. To prove my self just have a good read through the Successful ILR cases based on WP or HSMP or Tier 1 or Tier 2 you wont find a single applicant submitting a Police registration certificate.

Hope this will answer your question.

Please do kindly share your PEO experience with us on the forum.

Good luck for your ILR.

See page 40 of Set O form (for example)

11A All Applicants:

[] Your police registration certificate if you have been asked to register with the police.

[] The police registration certificate(s) of each dependant included in section 2 and applying for indefinite leave
to remain in the UK with you if they have been asked to register with the police.

You should know if you have been asked to register with police.

Hope this clarifies.

"There's no such rules I've heard any where that you need to apply for a Police registration certificate."

Yes, there is. Not for all countries though. It is clearly indicated in a vignettes of those who need to get it.

"I've read nearly hundreds of cases on this forum and never ever heard any member submitting a Police Registration certificate for their ILR application."

I recently was asked for the certificates at Glasgow PEO. See comment right next to yours as well.

"So I am affraid the information what you've received in the reply in this thread is totally wrong"

Not really as you can see.

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... iew=Binary

it states
When to impose the requirement to register
The requirement to register with the police is imposed on an applicant who is:
• a national or citizen of a country or territory listed in Appendix 2 to the rules
• a stateless person, or
• a person holding a non-national travel document.
And who is given:
• limited leave to enter the UK for longer than six months
• limited leave to remain allowing them to remain in the UK for longer than six months,
starting from the date of their arrival.
For more information on Appendix 2, see related link.
There are certain exceptions to the above. For more information on the rules and
exemptions from registration, see the link on the left: Who needs to register with the police.
The requirement to register can be imposed by:
• an entry clearance officer (ECO)
• a UK Border Agency officer
• a Border Force officer, or
• a caseworker on behalf of the Secretary of State.
The applicant must report to the police within seven days of:
• obtaining the leave (in the UK)
• arriving in the country if imposed by an ECO or UK Border Force officer
• receiving their biometric residence permits.
and see this link

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/polic ... appendix2/

I think, if you are not exclusively asked to register then you do not need to register
