Certificate of Registration Limitations

Post by Mollyo3737 » Fri Jul 13, 2012 11:11 am

I am an American citizen that was married (in the US) to a Brit for six years. During that time, I was registered as an 8(1) British citizen by my husband in 1985. Is this document still viable? What are the limitations to this document?

What I could gather is that this document is still very much valid and in full force. You were registered as a British Citizen, and this postion does not seem to have changed by any other law. Perhaps an expert can quote with right numbers of laws etc. Easiest way to find out is to apply for a British Passport using this document.
