Tier 1 visa renewal - PEO Glasgow Experience -28th May

Post by bsudhir » Sun Jun 24, 2012 9:28 pm

Hi

Wanted to share my experience at PEO Glasgow on 28th May.

Applied for Tier1 renewal for myself and dependents wife and son.

Reached Glasgow PEO at 9 am for 9:30 am appointment. After security got a token number and waiting for my turn. There were around 10 counters but there were only 2 people seeking appointment. I was called at 9:20 am and the case worked asked for all documents. He said he will call me after 15 mins. He called me after 10 mins and said all my documents are fine and asked me to proceed to Photo and fingerprinting. We finished this in 10 mins and were waiting. We got a call from Case worked at 10 AM saying he is satisfied with my documents and giving me further leave to remain.

I have given debit card number for payment but unfortunatley it did not go through. I called HSBC previous week and asked them to allow me to pay £3400 pounds(fees for myself and 2 dependents) they agreed and told me i can do the payment but it did not go through :-). The case worked asked me to give another card number and i gave different Credit Card and it worked.

At 11 AM the Case worker called me and said the payment went through but the IT systems are down and asked me to come around 2 PM.

I went out into glasgow city for lunch and came back at 2PM. I was called by the Cae worker and was told the IT systems are down and told me i may or may not come again to Glasogw to give finderprints if the systems have not captured them today. He gave me back all documents,Passports and the extension of Leave to remain letter. He gave me leave to remain from 28th May for 2 years. He told me he will call me next day and inform the status.

I went back to London the same night and got a call from the Case worker the next day. He told me my fingerprints were captured i need not come to Glasgow again. He said BRP will be sent in 7 working days.

After 5 days the courier company left a letter saying we were not there and asked us to give another date/time to deliver the BRP. I feel the courier company have not come at the first instance itself as i was at home all day.

Finally we received the BRP after 2 days.

The PEO at Glasgow were very friendly and i had a nice experience.

If it was extended for 2 years and from what the OP had said earlier in the post, it is obviously until May 28, 2014.

Kind Regards

Very strange if thats the case..... As he clearly applied within a month of his expiry. Hope OP is not falling short for ILR.

The case worker is not obligated to give extensions based on the expiry date regardless of when you apply. It is just the luck of the draw that determines if you get it from approval date or expiry date.

It is sad but true my friend. Depending on the circumstance, probably best to try and get a PEO appointment very close to the expiry date if you are sure that the application is straight forward

Thank you bsudhir, for sharing that information.

May I inquire How did you manage to arrange the appointment? as many others here noted, It is extremely difficult to arrange a PEO appointment.

Thank you again,

Can anybody please confirm if there is an option to collect BRP personally from PEO if you do not want it to delivered by post?

am employed and produced the following documents:

1. 1 year Pay Slips
2. 1 year Bank statements
3. Salary statement letter from employer ( showing total earnings for last 12 months)
4. Bank Statements to show maintenance funds

I have given copies of Master Degree certificate but the Case worker did not take them.

Mine was a straight forward case working for 1 employer for past 12 months

This will leave you short for your ILR. Didnt request him to give your extension after the current leave expires. I hope you had other leave before to cover this deficit. What I can't understand is that why do Glasgow PEO staff don't give extensions from expiry even when people apply within 1 month of the current leave expiry.

Its not mandatory. You don't need to show it if you don't have to.
