Post by BACK_TO_GB » Thu Jul 19, 2012 9:05 am

Hi,

my employer will not issue me with an employment letter stating that "my employment is required for the foreseable future"

am on TIER 1 and applying for ILR... Is this going to be a problem?

is it an actual requirement for TIER 1 for ILR? or is it just a nice to have?

Please help thanks!

All,

My understanding from reading the SET(O) form is the following:

For Tier 1 from HSMP -- for the purpose of ILR:

sections that apply are:

11L (and hence: 11A & 9A)

none of these state that the emplyment letter need to show requirement of future employment...

am I right to go to my appointment with confidence that am not missing anything?!

Not sure if its required but my Employer did mention it but also added a liability clause. Look at

http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=108369

" We further confirm that XXXXXXXXXXXX employment is on the basis of a permanent contract.
Therefore we foresee his employment with XXXXXXX continuing in the future.

XXXXXXXX does not have any unpaid absences since commencing employment at xxx.
In accordance with our normal practice, this confirmation is given without acceptance of
any liability on the part of XXXX or myself "

See if that can work for you .

tier1 - you don't need one. so don't worry if the employer is being a tit
