PSW To Tier 2 (General) - Work Start Date

Post by mansoorash » Fri Aug 03, 2012 6:45 pm

Hi all,

I have been working for my current employer for over 2 years now. I am currently on PSW visa and will be switching to tier 2 general on 4th of september when I submit my application.

My question is what dates shall we enter in the start and end of work date while assigning the certificate of sponsorship?

Will the start date be the actual date when I started work for this employer (i.e. 2010) or will this be the start date from my tier 2 application?

Thanks

PSW To Tier 2 (General) - Work Start Date

Guys, The question in the COS form is as follows:

In the following sections enter the details of the employment that this certificate covers.

Work dates

Start date: *

End date: *

Do I need to enter the start date of the actual employment (i.e. 2010) or the date from where the certificate will start?

Thanks[/i]

The start date is for the T2 employment, not the PSW employment.
The end date depends on the employer, i.e. how long they want to employ you for, the maximum is 3 years from the start date.

Thank you Manci, you're a star.

My visa expires on 12th of October and I have an appointment at UKBA in the first week of September. Shall I add the appointment date as the start date or any date near the expiry date?

Thanks again.

If you will be working as a Tier 2 migrant at the same company where you are working as a PSW at present, and have a PEO appointment for your T2 application in September, then the employer can put the work start date as the date of the appointment.

Strictly speaking you can only start your T2 employment when you get the approval letter from UKBA but since your existing PSW leave will continue until you get T2 leave or until it expires, whichever the earlier, this doesn't really matter.
