BRP stolen while travelling in india on holiday

Hello everyone,
My friend's BRP card has been stolen during his holiday in India.He is supposed to come back and start his new job in 2 weeks time.We have reported the incident to UKBA using the email id provided in their website.Can anyone shed some light on what would happen next.Is it another case of a long wait?For him it's really urgent to be back in UK within next week.Has any one here been through similar situation?

Thanks.Well , i went through that link but it doesn't give any indication about processing time.I was hoping to hear from people who have been trough similar situation or know of some one who has been.
