Tier 2 ICT Short Term and Change of Employment

Hi,
I am an Indian National Currently holding a Tier 2 ICT Short Term Visa which was Stamped on Nov 2011 with 1 yr validity

My current salary band is 32K + per year.

I need to know:
1. Can I extend my permission to be in UK (for a year or more) ?
2. If yes, How?
3. Will i have to Switch to Tier 2 ICT long term or Tier 2 General?
4. Will this include me leaving UK? if yes, for how much time.

Request you to please ignore my lack of cognizance and clear my confuions.

Will really appreciate if the reply is descriptive enough

hi Manci,
thanks for a quick reply..

is this case not possible (please do explain why) in case i am switching sponsors:

I get a new COS (change of employment) well before my current visa expiry from my new Sponsor(new company) who provides me with a salary of 40K+ (so it satisfies the clause for extn.) and then I apply for a Tier 2 General or Tier 2 Long Term ICT whichever if fine before my present one expires(without having to leave uk)?

Please guide..

Extension of visa or in-country switching into any other immigration category is not allowed for T2 ICT Short Term Staff.

If you want to change sponsor you can only apply for a T2 ICT visa if you have worked for the sponsoring organisation outside the UK for at least 12 months beforehand.

You ought to look at the T2 policy guidance where all this is set out:

As you mentioned as soon as my company can request/process CoS for ICT longterm staff,Is there any specific time limit we need to wait like 2-3 months or company can request/process immediately after 15-20 days of my arrival to own country.

If your are at present T2 ICT Short Term Staff, once you leave the UK and are assigned a T2 ICT Long Term Staff CoS by your present employer you can apply for entry clearance straighjt away, there is no waiting time.

Just i want to know more details about change of employment with in UK.
Example if i have ICT short term if i want to extend my visa
can i go for new sponcer with in UK ?
What kind of visa i will get and validity ?

if you are on a T2 ICT Short Term Staff visa you cannot change employment in the UK. You have to leave the UK, wait 12 months (the cooling off period) and then if you have a Tier 2 General CoS from another employer you can apply for entry clearance.
