Sponsorships for TIER4 General

Post by snowblueanty » Wed Aug 22, 2012 12:07 pm

Hi, can someone please advise me on what kind of documents to provide to UKBA for my sister? My husband and I will be sponsoring my sister for her application. I know that we need to provide bank statements for the value of a year of tuition fees and boarding and lodging too. We will provide letter of sponsorships. How about evidence of relationships? Also, anything else should we provide to support her application?

Thanks in advance.

Are you your sister's legal guardian?

Parents or Legal Guardians are only allowed to sponsor any student.

If you are not her legal guardian you cannot sponsor her application. Assuming she is an adult you can't suddenly become her legal guardian now.

How can I not be her sponsor if I am going to pay her tuition+living cost+etc? Is there any way to proof that I am able to be her sponsor? Thanks again

The rules do not permit any individual other than a parent or legal guardian to be treated as a sponsor. This doesn't stop you from paying her fees etc but to secure the visa the relevant funds need to be in her name or that of her parents. Do read the guidance where the requirements are explained in some detail.
