Wrong salary?

Received approval letter for Tier-2 today and it states Salary = x and allowances = y. But my actual total salary is x, not x+y.

Can someone confirm if Salary (on UKBA approval letter) is supposed to mean total salary or total salary - allowances? Just couple years ago, on my previous extension Salary was stated as total salary - allowances.

If this needs to be rectified, what is the process of doing it? Tomorrow I am going to find out what my employer actually put on the CoS.

Just learned from HR (A-rated sponsor) that apparently they now quote salary as total salary and any allowances is also stated. I can say for sure that in 2010 this was not the case.
