Doubt about reapplying- please help

Post by laxani » Sun Jan 07, 2007 7:15 pm

Hi,
I got refused on a different ground ( previous earning) but have a doubt about english language requirement. Wonder if you can help me. In my first application I had met the english language requirement.

The evidences I submitted were
IELTS taken more than 3 years ago
TOEFL ( > IELTS equivalent of band 6) taken more than 4 yrs ago
Letter from University stating language of instruction was english, my name and the name of degree, BUT no mention of date.

if you stick to the guidelines, NONE of the above is 100% compliant with the guidelines ( maybe except TOEFL as an alternative language certificate, but it was taken 4 yrs ago)

My question is, can I feel 100% confident in resubmitting the same evidence which gave me points in my last application? I do not want to take another chance with my application this time.

Thanks

If someone said, they are 100% sure, then then are lieing.

If you are not certian of the evidence, then why even risk ? You dont want to be in a siutation this time where you score in all other areas, and not english language; Is'nt it, that would be a disaster.

Hi, last time I had not supplied original bank statement.

I had supplied 12 months wage slip
P60 till april 06
Online bank statements

They refused because the online bank statements are not acceptable

I am still waiting for the original bank statements from the bank.

Webhunter: I am trying to find out about anycase which anyone knows about where the applicant got points the first time but did not get points on that the second time after submitting the same documents.

Thanks

Just to make things clear, I am asking about my English language requirement. I do not feel the evidences comply with their guidelines 100%,, but still I got point.
Can I expect to get point AUTOMATICALLY with the same evidences this time just because I got points last time? Am I worrying unnecessarily about this?

The answer is NO.

If you got it in your last application, there is NO guarentee what so ever, that you will get it this time.

Agree with Webhunter...it is not safe to assume that what you got previously would be the similar in your next application.

best advise is to fool-proof you second appliction by providing docs that support what you claim.

My opinion: NO. Highly likely to get a rejection.

Once the case worker is happy with the documents to score points, he'll look for a reason to reject. Only then he'll reject based on English Requirement.

Please note that the guidance document states any points/document accepted in previous application does not automatically score the same in subsequent application. It is subject to evaluation again; even in a review application.

Advisable to take IELTS again or get a letter from your university.

Thanks everybody for the above suggestion.

I have one question to senior members:

In the alternative english language certificate section, it does not mention about any time frame. It just says any alternative english language certificate more than IELTS 6 is also acceptable. In that case, the TOEFL score >4yrs ago should be fine, shouldn't it?

I do not have any problem sitting for IELTS again, but the next available date in my area is 20th feb or so, with result coming out in March. I cant wait for that long.
