English Language test for spouse

Hi All
My husband is going to apply spouse visa shortly in Islamabad as ILR spouse and needs to take an English language test. Could anyone please guide me on under new rules which language tests is relevant and where can he take this test in Islamabad. I haven’t been able to find a UKBA approved test centre in Islamabad, and am not sure if this test is mandatory for everyone or could he be exempted having a graduate degree taught in English language.
I’ll much appreciate any help on this.

If he has a certified degree taught in English then he shouldn't need to pass the English test.

You need to check whether the degree in question is recognised by NARIC. You can do an only PBS calculator check and use the online PDF generated by the system to your application.

Otherwise if in doubt you may as well get a NARIC certificate if you believe the degree is equivalent to UK Bachelor degree.
