Anyone else lose working tax credits since from mid June?

Post by tipper27 » Mon Aug 27, 2012 9:29 pm

Hi I am currently waiting for my decision on my Set(m) appliciation (I applied at the end of April 2012)

My husband (UK National) and I made an application for working tax credits in June and were awarded in the region of £2000. We got a letter this week stating that because of a "new rule" we "May" get a reduced ammount. ater checking our bank account it appears we are no longer getting any of this money.

Anyone else experienced this? I'm asking this because after some checking on the internet, I can't seem too find out anything about this "new rule" and the letter didn't go into specifics.

The income threshold has gone down, and the number of hours you need to work to be entitled to working tax credits has gone up

http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/taxcreditsbudget/index.htm

would suggest you call them to ask for your re assessment to be sent to you
