ILR through Solicitor

Post by dec03ec » Mon Sep 24, 2012 11:22 am

Hi,

I approached a Solicitor to apply my ILR as I am not able to get the same day appointments through online. They say, they are regulated by "Solicitors Regulation Authority".

My question is should i only consider the solicitors who are registered with OISC or above solicitors should be fine ?

Thanks in Advance

The OISC does not regulate solicitors; it regulates immigration advisers (who are not solicitors but have similar knowledge and experience and are licensed to operate in a quasi-legal capacity on immigration matters). That is why there are separate regulating bodies.

Whoever you appoint, make sure they specialise in Immigration law.
