Family visitor visa Refusal - Need advise please

Post by nayagam » Mon Sep 24, 2012 10:45 pm

Hello,

Applied family visitor visa for both my parents last week but got refused.
My father is a farmer and gets income (about 25K INR/monthly) from his own farm. He does have a bank account but does not use his account regularly but just only a few days before applying the visa he deposited around 2 lakhs INR (£2311) on his account and submitted the statement to support the visa application.

We found out today that his visa application has been refused and given the following reason:

"It is noted that Rs 2Lakhs cash was deposited into the account between 21/08 and 25/08. This does not state the stated monthly income of 25K and therefore does not support your claimed income nor satisfy me that genuniely yours"

We are so disappointed and does not know what to do next.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

You have not given the complete text of the refusal so it's not certain if he was refused on maintenance or on lack of convincing ties to homeland. The former can be addressed in a new application and the latter can only be addressed by an appeal (if an appeal is permitted). What is your status in the UK?

@Lucapooka - Thanks for your reply.

The remaining text reads as below

"In the light of above, Iam not satisfied that you intend to leave the UK at the end of your visit or you are genuinely seeking entry as a visitor for a period not exceeding 6 months"

which seems to suggest that the refusal was on the basis of lack of convincing ties to homeland if I understand correctly.

I am a permanent resident in the UK. I guess I can appeal but the time is againt us as the family function we are inviting our parents to attend is so close.

Looking forward to your reply. Thanks again for your response.

So it's nothing to do with money or sufficient maintenance; they simply feel that they have nothing in their homeland that will motivate returning there. You have no choice other than to appeal.
