Settlement visa application from South Africa

Post by JustinKing » Sat Aug 18, 2012 10:04 pm

My wife and two step childrens application for settlement visa's for the United Kingdom were handed in on the 7th of June 2012. We have not had any feedback regarding these applications which are coming up to the 60 days. This is a very stressful situation for all of us and I was wondering if anyone knew what the processing times were or does it take the full 60 days as they state on the home office website.

As you can imagine this is a very difficult situation for all parties concerned, so any information or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Justin

You just have to be patience as all applications were delayed due to Olympics. My husband has applied for his visa and its been 12 weeks, still no reply.

It will be exactly 60 days for me on Monday. I've tried asking about it with my VAC but nothing relevant was replied..nothing at all. I had no idea it would be such a long wait :? So hang in there, you're not alone! Hope you hear soon, all the best

@ JustinKing

I cant say about the country where u applied from but most settlement visas are taking up to 6 months now due to backlog off applications and a surge in them too. But from where u applied from u might get an earlier response. Once youve gone over your 12 weeks drop them an email to enquire and c wat they say. When i applied they said 12 weeks but they changed it to 24 weeks. Just be prepared because it can be disheartening. Good luck

Nothing yet either... the UK border agency website says average of 120 days based on August statistics.... therefore I guess thats 4 months.... but then again it can be anytime. Its very hard to wait, but inshallah we will hear some good news soon.
