Change of address

Post by london_prem » Fri Oct 12, 2012 10:50 am

I am on Tier1 General and have BRP card. I need to inform UKBA of my change in address. I found 3 different information on UKBA website. Whcih one is correct way of updating address?

1) Online link
https://contact-ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/ ... geAddress/

2) If you change your address at any time after you have received your biometric residence permit, and you think you are likely to be at the new address for at least 6 months, you should tell us by sending a fax to 020 8196 5454 or by writing to:

UK Border Agency
Change of Address Team
11th Floor Lunar House
Wellesley Road
Croydon
CR9 2BY

3) Migrant Change of circumstances form or MCC form located at
https://contact-ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/ ... umstances/

All three are correct ways!!
Choose between 1&2 or 2&3 or 1&2&3.

I found the reply myself on BRP leaflet page 4. All 3 options above are used for different circumstances.

UKBA website has changed the wordings on their website. Now the website says that

"You can tell us about a change to your UK contact details or your legal representative's details, using our online forms. You can find these forms on the Change of address page"

When I clicked on Change on address link from above statement, it took me to the online address change form. It seems BRP holders don't need to send a fax or a postal letter to Croydon anymore.
