Minimum length of visa validitiy for dependent application

Post by mohit_dj » Sun Oct 21, 2012 11:21 am

Hi all,

I would like to bring my wife to the UK. I am on Tier 1 General visa. When my wife would be applying there will be only 3 months validity on my visa. Can my wife still apply for the dependent visa? My plan is to bring her on my visa first then apply for extension together.

Any pointers will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Mohit

Theoretically yes, but it will be a very short-dated visa to coincide with the expiry of your leave.

Thanks. I don't mind that actually because looking at the time lines for postal applications I don't think I'll get my visa done within 3 months at least. Tried getting appointments for premium service but none are available so best option to bring her to UK first and then apply by post for an extension.
