Investment required for visa extension

Post by camuk75 » Mon Oct 29, 2012 9:21 pm

Hi,
Just wanted clarification on the details of the investment required.
From the guidance notes it appears that if 200k was deposited into the business account and this was recorded in the company accounts complied by an accountant then that would be acceptable.
I have seen on one lawyer website that the 200k has to be spent in the form of company expenses, purchases etc and can not just sit as unused cash in the company account.
Any guidance would be appreciated thanks.

Are you referring to the condition for making an extension, because there is no need for the money to be invested, or even in the UK, for the initial application?

To answer the question, merely being lodged in the company account is sufficient; it does not need to have been disbursed as a business expense.

Thanks.
Do you know how long the money has to be in the company?
As an example....could it be deposited, statements from the bank received etc and then withdrawn?
The most likely scenario is a small investment of say 25k would be required upfront & then I would deposit the remaining 175k just before the 3 yrs is up so that I could apply for the extension.

There is no stated time limit but you would have to have sufficient time to prepare business accounts to show the presence of the capital sum.
