Expired Driving License for the Prove of Age

Post by cmyaseen » Mon Jan 22, 2007 6:13 am

i m working n another country nd ve the original driving license of my home country, tht i want to send for the prove of my age, my date of birth s clearly written over there.
but prblm s tht the license has been expired on 20-01-07. I think that there should be no prblm of tht as they only ve to see the date of birth.

What you guys say? will it be acceptable or not?
I m sending my application within a day, so plz give me ur suggestions asap.

thanks

Personally, i think you would be taking a change. As the licence is expired, it could be rejected as technically it is no longer an official doccument.

Yes that is right, once a document is expired, then that document is deemed unofficial and invalid. That document is no better than a blank piece of paper or plastic.

Your Birth Certificate should be the best proof of your age. However, if you cannot provide the certificate, be prepared to have a very very good and valid reason why you cannot provide it. Otherwise, no matter what documents you provide(other than BC), HO will not likely to grant you points on your age.

the fact that the ID is already expired, it is worth taking the risk when used as an evidence...

try using a more valid [proof... birth certificate...a notarised copy of your passport
