Switching PSW to EEA 2 in London

Hello Everyone

I am non-EU PSW visa holder which is expiring soon in January. I have lived in the UK for 7 years and now I am going to apply EEA 2 as unmarried with my EU boyfriend (who has lived in the UK for past 5 years).

We have been together for 5 years so there are enough to prove the relationship is genuine + akin to marriage but we've only been living together 1 year so far. I know one of the criteria is to prove minimum of 2 years of cohabitation, I was just wondering if anybody had a similar case like mine and got the visa.

Would the fact that we can only prove 1 year of cohabitation be a big part of decision making?

Lastly, in case of rejection, if we get rejected so we decided to get married, do we just have to make a new EEA2 application with marriage certificate?

The verdict of the moderator here was that 2 years of co-habitation, while desirable, is not an essential if you can prove that you are co-habiting now and you can prove your relationship going back a period of time (at the discretion of the UKBA) in other ways. Do you have any accounts/investments in joint names going back further than the co-habitation? That would certainly help.

No I haven't, that is why I am a little concerned. We met at University so until last year (basically till we graduated) didn't live together. We first started to live together and then opened joint account last summer, so statements can only show past 6months...

If UKBA reject my application because of this, can I re-apply with the marriage certificate? Seems marriage is strongly advised on many cases..I might have to look into this as well.

It's better if you apply after marriage.because they are very strick in 2 years proof of co habitation which you are unable to proof,and if you wants to check your luck then it's a waste of your time.
