I dont know if this is an update but I received an 'acknowledgment letter' from customer service. ....We aim to respond to 95% of complaints within 20 working days of the date your correspondence was received by us.

The UK Border Agency is totally committed to treating all complaints seriously....

This is the only contact I have had with UKBA since their letter telling me to go for a biometric at the post office. It seems as if everything relies on a 'working days'. In my entire life, I have never been in this position of absolutely no information.

Thanks for the feedback sawera22

apple2710 I dont know if anyone can speed up the process but I can write what I have done.

and nv1984: Ok will list the contacts I am aware of below.

Steps I took.

Firstly, I called the (+44) 08706067766 number, selected option 4, then option 2 , it connects you to a call centre. For me it was a waste of precious time

2. Then I wrote to complain at their address: BRPdelivery@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk . They told me they will contact me in 20 working days with feedback. The havent done that yet.

3. Then I called my MP to intervene. The case worker sent them a mail by post and then told me they will rreply in 20 working days. She finally emailed me today saying she will put their reply in the post.
You can find your MP by going to Parliament's Website:

http://findyourmp.parliament.uk/

Then go to the page for your MP on the same site, which will have their email address and post address. You can write to any MP at "MP's name, House of Commons, London, SW1A 0AA"

I will write this address tomorrow as I am sick and tired of waiting. ukbacustomercomplaints@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk

My timeline is:
Date application posted: 13-08-12
Date acknowledgment of application received from UKBA: 16-08-12
Date of letter from UKBA for Biometrics Enrolment: 25-08-12 (it got to my door on 31st though!!)
Biometrics done: 31-08-12
Date of approval: ???
Date of return of passport and other documents: ???
Date BRP received: Waiting ???
Called UKBA :5th October no response, finally they said they cant do anything unless its gone for 6months
Called MP: 5th October
Email to MP: 5th October
MP mail to homeoffice: 12th October
Feedback from brp: 18th Oct (wait 20 working days)
Feedback from MP: Nov 7th, saying i should wait for the post.

Please update anybody

My MP wrote to UKBA in October and now received a response, they say that apologies for the time frame (now more than 3 calendar months since I posted application) and my case will be resolved as efficiently as possible.
But when- nobody knows.

Hi apple2710

My MP sent me a letter from UKBA saying my application is still 'active' and that they are attending to appllications in the order that they came in.

They also said that replacement BRP are treated just like new applications :?:

I think I will ask for my passport as I didnt bargain for a 3month wait.

Called MP: 5th October
Email to MP: 5th October
I wrote to BRP complaints: 5th October
MP mail to homeoffice: 12th October
Feedback from brp: 18th Oct (basically saying i should just wait 20 working days)
Feedback from MP: MP Caseworker Sent an email dated Nov 7th, saying they will send the response from UKBA by post. Got the letter by 13th Nov, where UKBA said that they are attending to applications in the order that they came in.
Passport and other documents received today
: UKBA sent it by royal mail special delivery, dated 14th Nov.
BRP (RC): The UKBA letter said maybe 7-10working days

Thoughts: I think the MP's letter have an impact as they are forced to bring out your application to respond to the letter. Though I am very happy to receive my passport and therefore some form of control on my life but 14th August to 14th November is a long horrible wait

Will update when BRP comes in. I wish everyone the best of luck.

Thanks apple2710 and sawera22

Sawera22 did you contact your MP at all?

Apple2710
, I cant remember if our waiting period is the same but If your MP wrote to them (and you have a copy of their letter) and the UKBA replied (and you have a copy of their letter) then I think your passport is coming back sooner than later. I emphasise the copy of those letters as an evidence of action taken.

For me, my correspondence address is different from my residential address but in frustration I wrote to both MPs to intervene, my Labour party MP was very active, the case worker called and emailed me and always gave me feedback no matter how glum it may be while my Conservative Party MP couldnt even be bothered to pick up their phone when I called:roll:. It took 4 emails for them to bother to contact me and even then it was a stupid standard reply they gave me, the same information I got when I called the UKBA hotline. I only wrote the conservative MP when I felt all those working days were too long a wait.

My labour MP was more actively involved in my case.

Maybe this new week will bring luck to both of you and the rest of us. :)

hello all,

Does anyone have any idea of the current service levels for brp(rc) i.e. time from application to biometric and biometric to the card reaching us?

we need to plan a trip and any guidance will be greatly appreciated. we had our biometrics done for a replacement card in the 1st week of october and have heard nothing since then

also, do you guys think it is useful to call ukba to ask them about service levels? i am not sure how hard it is to reach them in the first place and also if they will be willing to share any information over the phone. Nonetheless, it would be beneficial if someone can be kind enough to share experiences calling ukba or even a contact number.

This forum has been greatly helpful and thanks a lot to the kind souls who have already shared much information.

Just a quick piece of trivia, with over 200 posts and over 25k views this thread is easily one of the most visited threads currently. Just goes to show how helpless people are feeling about their application. Therefore, any form of guidance on current service levels would benefit one and all - please post if you have any info.

Many of us didn't vouch for a waiting period that would run into months. I emphathise with all of you and hope we receive our documents soon.
