Dies St lucia qualify for British Territory Citizenship?

Post by Jamesh1983 » Sun Nov 04, 2012 8:39 am

Hi all, hope someone can advise? I've searched endlessly on the web but I can't find the answers.

I am St Lucian and want to spend the summer of 2013 in the uk (4-5 months) basically to play amateur cricket and work. As I would need to work the Sports Visitor Visa is not an option. I have contacts in the uk. So what I need to know is whether as a St Lucian I qualify for the Tier 5 Youth Mobility Scheme as a British Territory Citizen? I'm really struggling to find this information out.....if I do qualify does anyone have any experience of this? Ie. are visas limited for BTC's? am I likely to get a visa?

Thanks guys, any help would be appreciated

Jame

If you have a grandparent who was born in the UK, you might qualify for ancestry visa

Thanks. What I am struggling to find out is whether being St Lucian qualifies me via the British Territory Citizen route? I can't seem to find anything about this anywhere. If it doesn't, then at least I know where I stand but it's frustrating not knowing. Can anyone help??

No, and even if it did, all it means is that you can enter the UK for six months per year without the need to apply for a visit visa; it would not allow you to remain and work in the UK

So based on this I would not qualify to apply for the Youth Mobility working visa (holiday working visa)? Ie. I don't qualify for a working visa?
