Please Help!: EU Spouse applying for a French Visa

Post by bliss2012 » Thu Nov 08, 2012 5:55 pm

Hi ,

Please could you please help in clarifying the below for me.

I am a non EEA spouse of an EEA national. I do have a valid residence card.

I want to travel to France to visit a friend, my husband wont be travelling with me so i want to apply for a schengen french visa.

one of the required document for the application is

•If the marriage was celebrated in the UK by a religious authority, the marriage certificate must be paired with an official registration at the General Register Office.

i don't understand this . we married in the church and do not have an official registration at the General Register Office.

I had a valid work permit when we got married.

Please advise on what this means, can i obtain it now.
If i apply with just our marriage certificate, will my visa app be refused?

I appreciate every advice

Many thanks in advance

Can you please provide a link to where this is being requested.

Marriage certificates issued by CofE in the UK eventually get sent to the GRO, but it can take literally years for them to be filed there.
