Spam texts after application, anyone?

Post by Baxx » Tue Nov 20, 2012 2:01 pm

Hi people!

This is slightly off topic, but does any of you experience an increase in receiving spam SMS after you made ILR application?

I have been getting quite few, and some even have my birth name in subject line, which I NEVER use other than official documents such as visa application!

My suspicion is that my legal adviser leaked my info to some spammers, OR, god forbid, UKBA is making a buck or 2 by selling our info!

What do you think?

See this:

I think you should report it as you've written here.

Your details also go through a payment processing centre (basically a bank). Did you enrol your biometrics yet? If so where?

Hi!

I am not certain if UKBA / adviser was the source of leak.

I mean, it could be anything, could be DVLA where I renewed my photo card, or could be my ex boyfriend (!) sold my data to folks. I'd report it if there are others?

Yes, done Bio now, at post office in New Malden.
