biometric data

Post by sadol40 » Wed Nov 21, 2012 1:01 pm

hi all,

is biometric data only taken after the application was considered and deemed to be successful ?
i am asking because looking at the forum biometric letter is normally send 14 days after application and if they need your data then your application must have been approved

many thanks

All applicants are required to give biometrics. Receiving a biometric letter is no indicate of the success or otherwise of your application. The case is not even passed to a case worker until after biometrics have been given.

thanks greenie, one thing that i am curious to know why is , why do they take biometric data everytime you apply. i did my biometric data for my PS and believe you have to do it with every application, do they not have a central server to store this info once for all ?

Your biometric information is used to verify who you are. I.e. whenever you make a new application they will verify your current biometrics against those they have on record for you to verify that you (the applicant) are who you claim to be.
