Applying for dependant visa for my new born in UK

Post by meratier1 » Mon Oct 29, 2012 5:22 pm

Hi All,

I am planning to apply for dependent visa of my new born child in UK.

When I am trying to book for the PEO appointment, it asks for which Visa do i need to apply. I don't have the 'Tier 1 General Dependent' (though Tier1 General is there) visa option there but do have Tier 1 PBS dependent. What option do I need to select there to book the PEO appointment. I have already renewed my Tier1 General Visa so it is only for my new born.

Also do we have some previous post where I can find the checklist for the documents required?

Thanks for your help guys.

Hello meratier1

I have just booked an appointment at Belfast PEO for my child born in UK. My case is same as yours. I and my wife have tier 1 (G) till Sept 2013.

and now I just need to process my kids tier 1 dependant.

I booked appointment selecting "Tier1 PBS Dependant".

I assume that should be ok. I tried to contact them to confirm the same plus to check if PEO Belfast process only dependant application, and also to check if both me and wife can accompany the baby as the baby is just 2 months old.
However there was no answer for long time so I just disconnected the line.

Thanks Sush for always being there.

@Sanjay: I also think the same that we both should be able to go. I'll let you know in case i get more information.
Have you sorted out the documentation?

Thanks.

Hi meratier1, not yet, I've booked for NOV 22nd. So have time for documentation.

Not too much on documentation part this time as its just Dependant application of an Infant plus parents (me and my wife) already having valid visas.

Following are the only documents I shall be preparing

1. My salaryslips (12 months)
2. My Bank statement for maintainance funds
3. Birth certificate of my baby issued in UK
4. Babys photographs (The most difficult part of documentation, to get the right photo for a tiny baby. Though I have photos taken for her passport, but that was taken when she was 10 days old. Now she is 4 months, so i'll go for a new photo. Dont want to take a change and face trouble at the PEO)

5. Babys passport
6. My and my wife's passport and BRP's

I think these 6 documents are sufficient

However if possible , I'll get a reference letter from my employer too

Please let me know if you feel anything is important and that Iam missing :)

I am preparing for my daughter's tier-1 G dependent visa by post.
I don't think, you need 12 months salary slips for dependent application.

Below is one of previous post where I find supporting doc checklist.

Although I am not much convinced if its complete list. As one of my friend who applied for child's visa in PEO, they asked him for marriage certificate.

Hi meratier1 & Sanjay,

Can one of you please confirm if both parents can accompany the newborn child for the PEO in person appointment? We both got our Tier 1 Visas extended back in April, 2012 and now I have booked an appointment for our 3 month old son (born in UK) mid January, 2013 in Croydon PEO. Your help is much appreciated.

Avi

Hey Hi,
Sorry to ask but did you know that is is absolutely not necessary to apply for a visa for a new born except if you intend to travel out of the UK before your next renewal or Transfer into IL? Else to reply to your question, I would go with the Mother just incase they come upwith some unforeseen question of technicality.
Regards
