Thanks for the prompt reply.therock wrote:Everybody knows HSBC is an international bank, but my recommendation would be not to give a chance to HO to make a silly mistake. Always follow the exact letter format mentioned in the policy guidance.
I think you are right by saying that the new rules from 13 December 2012 wont affect the PSW holder very much.therock wrote:If you are on PSW, why are you worried about 12December rules? I don't think, those rules affect PSW badly. But it majorly affects Tier-4 applicants.
Correct me if I am wrong.

I need urgent help on this ASAP. Just came to know that HSBC in Paksitan is regulated by the Jersey Financial Services Commission (Channel Islands) NOT the State Bank of Pakistan.
Does this make any difference? Please reply ASAP
Regards
You must not take risk. Its better to arrange a new letter and follow the instructions in Policy guidance.hham1224 wrote:Can I use Pakistani HSBC Statementtherock wrote:Very strange to see HSBC is not listed in the list. In fact funny!
I have the same problem my bank name is State Bank of India and they have refused to issue later which ukba has recomended and said that state bank of india itself suggest that we are a nationalized bank regulated under the regulated body. And has issued the letter in their own format in which it doesnt show that it is regulated by gov. But I have seen in the policy guide line that ukba will check from their own whether the bank is regulated by authorized body or not. So the letter should be fine. After all what will I do if Bank manager is strongly not writing down the format which ukba is requiring?tuliprose wrote:You must not take risk. They will check from central bank's (State bank of Pakistan) website that if HSBC is list of foreign banks. And HSBC is there.

And to make it more stronger, you can ask HSBC manager to mention that HSBC is also registered with Financial services authorities in UK.
