Does getting my Visa done from India - resets my time period

Post by AmitavaMitra » Fri Dec 07, 2012 4:21 pm

Hi there ,

I am on Tier 2 ICT Visa - working in the Uk for last 4 years and 7 months - first came to the Uk in Apr -2008.

From time to time my visa kept on extending with client or project requirement. Everytime I extended my Visa from within the UK except once in Dec 2009 when I extended my Visa from India.

Hence my visa situation over the time can be described as under ..

Issed-on Applied-from Extended/Valid till

Mar - 2008 India,New Delhi Nov-2008
Sep-2008 London,Croydon Jun-2009
Jun-2009 London,Croydon Jan-2010

Dec-2009 India,New Delhi Oct-2010

Sep-2010 London,Croydon Apr-2011
Mar-2011 London,Croydon Jul-2011
Jul-2011 London,Croydon Oct-2011
Oct-2011 London,Croydon Oct-2012
Oct-2012 Cardiff Aug-2013

Also worthwhile to mention that sumtotal of my leave is less than 120 days in the above period.

My Question/concern : Since I have extended my visa from India in Dec -2009 - does it reset the time for application of ILR ( Indefinite Leave to Remain) which I am due to apply in Apr-2013.

Thanks in anticipation.

Kind Regards

Amitava

No, the clock has not 'reset'. Because you still had valid leave to be in or enter the UK at the time of application in New Delhi.
Please do not send me PM if I haven't sent you one yet.
