This is her breakdown of time:How long has she been working before the 6 months break? If you can prove she was looking for job during that time, she would be considered a worker/job seeker and CSI is not required.
Why are you seeking to get CSI now? Is it for immigration purposes? You can't backdate an insurance. Does your wife work at the moment?
So in this case, she was a job seeker during the whole period and didn't require CSI. Proof of job applications, CV sent to companies, registering with recruitment agencies and job centre can serve as proof of job seeking. You don't want to claim self-sufficient for that period if you didn't have CSI.nmitter wrote: This is her breakdown of time:
09/2006-10/2010- in job
11/2010-01/2011- out of job and not registered with job centre (self sufficient)
02/2011-04/2011-registered with job centre as a job seeker
05/2011-till date back in job
She was looking for a job all the time during the 6 months when she was not working but not sure how to evidence this....
NHS cards are irrelevant. UK EHIC are irrelevant (they are not valid in the UK. Only in other EU countries). Non-UK EHIC are accepted.nmitter wrote:Also i have the NHS cards for both of us as well as EHIC cards for both us since few years, so my wife was in total 6 months out of job in 5 years with 3 months with job centre and 3 months as self sufficient, so do I need to get Private medical insurance?
Comprehensive cover top end from Pru health is £106 per month!!!
Please guys please advise me.
thanks
The Home Office changed their policy regarding the (dis)consideration of the NHS as CSI on January 20th, 2011. One could argue that prior to that no provisions affirming that the NHS coverage wasn't enough were available, hence it should be considered enough. Granted, you would need to argue your way through, but it is possible as a last resort.Jambo wrote:NHS cards are irrelevant. UK EHIC are irrelevant (they are not valid in the UK. You don't want to claim self-sufficient without insurance. Better to claim job seeking status for the whole period.
Why would you need CSI now? You can't backdate an insurance and if your partner is working at the moment, CSI is not required.
