choice of ENGLISH TEST

Can anybody give me a suggestion about which ENGLISH TEST can be taken(preferably easier) for my dependent to apply for ILR and how long it takes to get a certificate? could you also please give me details how to apply?

ESOL or Life in the UK Test .Details in below link
