Hi all,
i am English and my Chinese wife is currently here on a Spouse Visa ( she entered the UK on 26th October 2011).
We will therefore look to apply for ILr at the end of this year.
looking for some info on the below:
1. When we applied for Spouse VISA ( in China where we were living at the time ) our Chinese marriage cards were acceptable without needing to have them translated etc - I take it that as she already has spouse VISA we do not need translated copies for ILR? either the spouse VISA in her passport or the Chinese marriage cards as is will still be acceptable as proof of marriage?
2. I note that they are changing the goal posts again regarding ILR and the requirements however as my wife first came to the UK on 26th October 2011 I believe the changes wont affect her as she was here before July 2012?
3. I think the only thing that could change is that she would need to pass English language test at level B1? However I think I am right in saying we could apply for ILR 28 days short of her 2 year arrival date, meaning the last few days of September or Monday the 30th due to the weekend, and therefore just miss the requiremnt for English B1? Is this correct?
thanks in advance.
