Hi all,
I am aware there is a topic below on this same page regarding the NARIC and English Requirement but I have a question thats unrelated to the PBS.
My fiance is hoping to apply for a fiance visa later this year and we hope to use her academic qualifications to satisfy the English requirements.
She has a BA (Major: English, Minor: Communication Arts) which was taught in both Thai and English (around 60% in english, 40% in her native Thai). She also has an MA in European Studies which was taught 100% in English from a major University.
One of the pages, however, on the UK NARIC website claims "UK NARIC will not be able to assess any tests, which are not included on the Home Office list of approved English language tests or provide an English language assessment of overseas degrees which are comparable to UK Master's and research degrees."
I was wondering how we should proceed in this case? Is it possible to obtain the Statement of Comparability from NARIC regarding her Master degree and then obtain a letter from her University to say it was taught solely in English? How would the UKBA know what level (C1, B2 etc) that it is?
Perhaps we should get a NARIC English Language Assessment of her Bachelor's degree but I am worried about the results as its not taught solely in English.
Advice/help is much appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Colin
