Please help....need advice about the wife settlement visa.

Post by Ck81 » Sun Feb 18, 2007 11:46 pm

Hello there,

My wife is a US citizen, we were recently married in January and now we are looking at her moving over to the UK this May. I've looked through a few other topics and have noticed it seems to be advantageous to send financial statements with our application. Unfortunatly I have been off work for the last year receiving incapacity benefit only. Now I'm returning to work so I'm wondering is there any type of limit to your account balance that the visa people prefer to see with an application?

Also my parents are going to support us by living with them and giving my wife employment (they own a convenience store). Financially they are very comfortable so the next question is - will their support be enough to gain the spouse visa for the financial requirement?

I've been wanting to return to my wife so we can stay with each other until she gets her visa (spend the 3 months in the states on the tourist visa). We are both worried that if I go over to the states now with having no job to return to and currently being unemployed will this affect her chance of obtaining a visa or will my parents sponsership of her be enough? I am currently going through interviews (just returned from the states 2 days ago) and will stay here and work if that's the best option to obtain the visa.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thankyou.
