WP->HSMP->ILR question

Hello!
I've been on a UKWP since Jan 2004 and have recently got an HSMP which is valid until Jan 2009. I've a 18 month research offer in France starting from Jun 2007. I am confident to get a position back in UK after I finish my contract in France. Would my HSMP be considered as a continuation to my WP, and would I be able to apply for ILR in the UK on my return to the UK in Jan 2009?

The 18 months in France will reset your ILR counter to ZERO. Your ILR counter will start afresh when you return to UK in an IED category.
