Tier 1 Dependent - Initial Application - Maintenance

Post by AKT » Thu Jan 17, 2013 11:19 am

I have just been granted Tier 1 Ent visa and I have been in UK for more than 3 years.

Can I show maintenance funds in my UK bank account for my Wife's dependent application?

If so, how much that should be?

If my wife has to maintain in her UK bank account, how much that should be?

Please advise...

Therefore, only your wife is now making an application, and therefore only your wife needs to provide evidence of maintenance. The need for you to provide maintenance for yourself, as indicated in the previous post, does not apply.

The sum for your wife, alone, would be 600 for three months. It can be in your account or her account.

Many Thanks Lucapooka.

She will be making initial application from home country - alone.
I was little confused and concerned about me maintaining the funds as this has not been mentioned in the guidance.

So, if I got you right, She has to maintain £600 in UK bank account for 90 consecutive days even if she is making initial application from home country. Right?

Thanks,

Yes, because you have been in the UK for over a year. If you were a new arrival to the UK, her maintenance would increase to 1800 (but is not the case here). It does not have to be a UK bank account and it does not have to be in her name if it is in your name.
