Very Urgent - BRP ERROR

Post by thecusp » Sat Jan 26, 2013 12:33 am

Hey Guys,

I received my BRP in December last year, at that time I didnt pick the slight mistake on my BRP card. I am currently visiting my home country and due to travel back on monday.
Problem is one letter of the town's name is incorrect, do you guys think I would have any problems at the UK Border or what I can do now to avoid any problems and lastly how can I get that corrected?

I am seriouslu worried and would appreciate your quick help.

Kind regards,
PK

Is that your place of birth. I think it shouldn't be a problem but raise it with the caseworker who dealt with your application once you are back.

Hi kpk1234,

Thank you for your reply.
yeah town is misspelt but city spelling is O.K..
instead of D it is S... and it is clearly a typo error by looking at the keyboard..
I am bit concerned.. but do you reckon should I get that corrected upon my return?

Also are you aware of any guidance on a single letter error.. I understand if this would have been DOB or Name then it would have been major issue....

Thanks,

PK

yeah if it is a typo then it should not be problem. But raise it just in case, you would have received a letter with your BRP. Send an email to them saying that the name of the town is misspelt on your BRP. They might ask you send the old one back and post you a new one.

In terms of the guidance please check with the leaflet you have received with your BRP.

Hi Guys,

Any more suggestions/experience please:-
Can I get away with one letter mistake and keep the sme BRP or I must notify UKBA about this error and get the BRP Changed.

I am very confused and nervous. I am just asking all these questions because my job involves a lot of travelling and changing BRP may require a lot of time as UKBA seems to be very very busy these days.

Many thanks
PK
