I'm getting bored of waiting, please find my timeline below

Type of application: SET(O)
Type of previous residency: 5 year Ancestry
Date Applied: 03/08/2012
Type of payment: Debit Card
Date they took the money: 14/08/2012
Date of the acknowledgement letter: 15/08/2012 (received 20/08/2012)
Date of biometric letter: 10/11/2012 (received 13/11/2012

Blakee - there doesn't seem to be much rhyme, reason or logic as to how they're processing applications.

I applied on 28 Aug, so well after you, but got my biometrics letter before you - 20 Oct. I was also on UK Ancestry.

FYI - I've been looking into what it takes to apply for Ancestry again (in the event that my application is denied). It looks like I'll have to return to SA and make my application from there... Less than ideal!

Anyhow, chin up. One day (touch wood) we'll look back on all of this and hopefully be able to joke about it :)

I'm having the same problem. Supposed to be getting married in April will need my visa and passport by March, not confident.

Type of previous residency: 5 year Ancestry
Date Applied: 21/06/2012
Type of payment: Debit Card
Date they took the money: 28/06/2012
Date of the acknowledgement letter: 26/06/2012
Date of biometric letter: 04/01/2013
Biometrics enrolled: 09/01/2013
Date of approval: STILL WAITING!!!

On acknowledgement letter it said do not make any urgent travel arrangements (8+months without a passport is not urgent?)

Hoping to receive the ILR next month

Post by SSAB » Tue Jan 29, 2013 10:08 pm

Hi, I noticed that people who applied in July are all receiving their ILR in Jan.. which means that we all should be getting it in Feb for sure.

Wishing all of you the best and surely we would receive it in the Month of Feb.

Hi,
Thank you everyone for the helpful information on this website. Here is my time line.

Set (M) NO Dependants
The current spouse Visa then was Expiring 26/06/2012.
25/06/2012 Application sent via Next Day Special Delivery.
26/06/2012 Application received by UKBA.
27/06/2012 No Money Taken Out of my Account even though there was money in my account (Debit Card).
02/07/2012 Acknowledgement Letter received (letter dated 28/06/2012).
16/08/2012 Application sent back to me invalid as they could not take the application fee from my card. A simple phone call would have resolved any issues but UKBA don't do the simple things and sends back my application after 7 weeks.
17/08/2012 Sent in a fresh application with a cheque payment so they can't scr£w that up.
20/11/2012 2nd Biometrics Letter received (letter dated 16/11/2012) The letter says I was sent a biometric letter 3 weeks ago even though I never received the first letter!
21/11/2012 Biometrics taken at the post office (chelmsley wood PO)
30/01/2013 Approval Letter (Dated: 25/01/2013) + Documents/Passports (Mine and my wife's)
31/01/2013 BRP Card Delivered by unknown as I found it lying inside the porch. BRP dated 29/01/2012.

I finally have peace of mind after a thoroughly miserable experience. I'm so happy I can travel abroad to see family and friends. I wish everyone the best of luck and hopefully you will get your ilr soon.

Congratulations on the good news - this is exactly what happened to me as well (payment mysteriously not taken without reason). Though I received a follow up letter after resubmitting asking me to leave the country immediately. Fingers crossed something arrives soon.

Bio given: 11/11/12

SSAb, aksi, ash_ncl and Mississippi queen, all your applications seemed to take a similar time. Where were they all processed? My husband's application was just a little after yours, but still no news! Thanks

Set (O) August Timeline

Finally!

Type of application: SET(O)
Type of previous residency: 2 years HSMP + 3 years Tier 1
Date Applied: 31/08/2012
Type of payment: Credit Card
Date of the acknowledgement letter: 05/09/2012
Date of biometric letter: 31/10/2012 (Biometrics done same day)
Documents and passport returned with approval letter for IRL: 12/02/13
DX missed delivery (BRP): 19/02/13 (Letter was dated 15/02/13, which was strange since I definitely received it on the 19th. Stressed me out slightly since the letter says you have to arrange a new delivery within 48 hours, and I was worried they meant from the date on the letter. But all was fine!)
BRP received as arranged: 22/02/13 and was delivered midday

Total time taken: 5 months 22 days

Best of luck to everyone waiting! I'm booking a flight home to see everyone I missed at Christmas!

Waiting for ILR from 1 year now

Post by anujj82 » Fri Feb 22, 2013 3:43 pm

Hi, I applied for ILR on 8th of March 2012, received the biometrics letter within 3 weeks of applying enrolled for biometrics the same week. It's been close to 1 year now and I am still waiting for my Passport and BRP. Whenever I call them to chase my application all get to hear from them is to continue to wait, these days even they have stopped taking any calls. I am very worried now and don't know what to do next? Somebody Please Advise.
