previous Visa Application Reference number

My wife is applying for her visa I am on HSMP here and she is coming here from Karachi, Pakistan. Now I have following situation

She visited Ireland for 3 months three years back and overstayed for three days. When going to Ireland she also applied for UK visa and had interview call for that but was not able to go for an interview because in that process she was missing her flight to Ireland.

Now in VAF1 form section 4.11 they ask for reference number. and she does not have a reference number but a slip inside passport on which there was a number starting with ENIB but we are not sure that this is reference number. Can we leave the reference number field blank? or is there any way we can find that? What impact all this scenario will create on her application.
