Immigration for mother

Post by sunju1 » Tue Feb 05, 2013 6:52 pm

I am on DLR and my wife and son is British citizen. My mother( age 68) has been in U.K for more the 6 times in last 8 years.

At the moment she is on family visit visa(visa granted for 2 years) she need to go back before completion of her 6 month in March 2013. The 2 years visa is expiring in August 2013.

I want my mother to remain with us in U.K. I need to know any chance we can make an application for her stay in U.K

Can my wife be a sponser for her application as I do not have settled status.

Regardless of your status, I would imagine that she will not qualify for settlement even when you are settled because she is not someone who can say yes to the following:

You need long-term personal care to perform every day tasks, such as washing and cooking.
The care you need is not available in the country where you are living, either because it is not available and there is no person in the country where you are living who can reasonably provide it or it is not affordable.

Post by icehouse256 » Wed Feb 06, 2013 4:07 am

Please can anyone update on now they went about the income threshold for applicants who applied after the July 9th rule ; where the HO said the british citizen has to earn 18,600 pound annually before they can marry a foreign national ?

Please if there is anyone who has applied and has any update kindly respond.

Thanks ALL.

please start your own post as your query has nothing to do with the topic in this thread.
