SWITCHING TIER2 ICT TO TIER2 GENERAL

Hello,

I have been granted Tier2 ICT Long Term Established Staff VISA in May 2012. My question is can I switch to Tier2 General and then apply for ILR (permanent residence) after 5 years.

From what I have been reading, it is not possible to switch in-country. However is it possible to switch outside country and immediately without having to wait for 12 months (cooling off period).

Any replies in this will be highly appreciated..

Tier 2 ICT no longer counts for ILR, unless you are on a 10 year route. A 12 month cooling off period would apply for a new entry clearance under and category. In-country switching is not allowed.
