Hey there,
I am pretty surprised that no one has actually replied to your post even though it is an important question. Basically I was in this forum trying to look for similar situation as I myself have been invited for an interview in UKBA Liverpool along with my husband of course, so I was looking to find some answers but I realized no one had taken the time to reply.
We have the interview next Monday (Feb the 25th), I wish I would help but I am sorry just wanted to write to you so that you know that you are not the only one who has been asked for an interview.
If you got any answers please forward them to me and so I will do
Best of Luck

Guys do not be panic as calling for interview looks like a substitute strategy to ukba's surprise home visit strategy. But for interview you have been given time and you can better plan and most importantly the physcial appearance of the couple will be most important apart of some interrogation. Surely the questions will be simple and relevant to normal and genuine couples.
Please donot send PM. Write in open forum to facilitate others too.

Your EU spouse should make a complaints to the ukba. Must also quote the relevant 6 month rule in directive 2004/38/ec. Also get your MP involve.
If your relationship is genuine which I do not doubt you shouldn't have waited this long to seek advice. I started getting my mp involved from 2 week after application and hadn't received CoA.

So you got to keep at your MP 3-4week for update. And make sure your MP is aware of the 6 months regulation.
They said it's 9 months for Romanians and Bulgarians, It's over a year now like you said. So make sure MP is fully aware and keep pushing they're there to serve yours and others people's interest.
And yes I was able to work with CoA, and never had an interview and was issued about 3 months after application in 2011.
Best wishes all.
