Parliamentary Ombudsman: "UK Border Agency is Shambolic

Post by AllegianceonlytoCurrency » Thu Feb 28, 2013 12:39 pm

I am due for an ILR appointment at Croydon in two weeks time.

I will post my experience under a seperate thread afterward.

Until then - I am compelled to share a bit of information with all forum users - in the same way you've shared information with me.

The info below will be useful reference to anyone seeking guidance on how to pursue justice if their case has been reviewed unfairly - and case studies of such experiences.

Mythbuster - the UK Border Agency are not a law unto themselves

Shambolic Verdict of UK Border Agency by Parlimentary Ombudsman after 13 yrs in operation...

Compensation won by Parlimentary Ombudsman for...

- erroneous Criminal Records Disclosure

- unreasonable delays and mishandling of an asylum application

http://www.ombudsman.org.uk/improving-p ... inciple/11

- mishandling of applications

http://www.ombudsman.org.uk/improving-p ... quences/16

- maladministration of applications

http://www.ombudsman.org.uk/improving-p ... quences/11

and if the above weren't enough - here are eleven further cases of compensation with written apologies from the UK Border Agency to immigrant applicants - successes obtained by the parliamentary ombudsman

Please note that the intention of my post is to share the valuable information and experiences within with the forum - no different than you all have done with your personal experiences.

These public cases may assist those who share similar circumstances and provide a more realistic experience of what you can expect from the UK Border Agency when you pay for their services.

I hope this information was helpful and reccomend the moderators to make this post a sticky for handy future reference.

My ILR experience in Croydon will be reported in two weeks time and thank you for assisting with my preparations.

Look forward to your experience in 2 weeks' time re your application and thanks for your post regarding the Ombudsman.

I have just made a complaint to the Border Agency's complaint email address regarding their not answering the textphone at the answer provided in their website.

The complaints process has to be handled within 20 working days, and if not done properly or within that time, then I can involve the Ombudsman.

To be fair, with the money we pay for UKBA services, I believe we should get better service at least with appointment booking. We don't deserve to be awake till 2am to book appointment. That is totally unfair! Not at 2am in the morning for severall days.

At least they can look at it from the point of view that we need to earn some money the next day to pay tax and improve the economy.
