French Visa for Chinese Nationals

Post by LeslieOSS » Sat Feb 03, 2007 1:37 am

Following proper BB protocols, I have spent the last hour or so perusing the older threads to make sure my question has not been asked and answered already. I don't believe it has so here goes:

I work for a US headquartered consulting firm with branches in London, India and Shanghai. We are beginning a project in Paris and need to get visas for several of our Shanghai team members. We expect they will need to spend between 2-6 months in Paris. We will be handling all the costs incurred on their business trip and they will continue to be paid by our office in Shanghai. I've seen the requirements for short stay and long stay visas and I believe we need to apply for Temporary Secondment.

The problem we have, and I suppose the main question I'm asking, revolves around processing times. This project was awarded to us quite suddenly and we're being pressed to begin work on it immediately. As we have no office or employees in France, we're at the mercy and timeline of the visa processing time. Does anyone know if it's possible to get a visa that requires a relatively small processing time and apply for the secondment while we're in France?

Any information or suggestions anyone could provide would be appreciated.

It is unlikely that anyone on this forum has the kind of detailed, specialised information you are looking for.
