Applied on March 2012 based on 5-year residency

Acknowledgement letter received a week later

Got a letter asking 950 Euro and GNIB card 1st March 2013

My question:

I'll have to travel in March and May, would the Dublin airport officers let me back in without my GNIB card?

Good luck everybody.

Some people have the same issue. Just bring with the coloured copy of your GNIB card and the letter from INIS. I am sure the immigration officers will let you through

Applied in Mid 2012
Update status in December got acknowledgement : Further processing Team
Change of Address Acknowledgement: Initial processing

Does it really matter that Initial or Further Processing team sends acknowledgement or is it just an update any team can respond.

I rang them today and they said that they are waiting for Gardai report. Do you know how long will it take? It's been a year now and was just wondering if it's normally take that long for the Gardai report? What is the next process after the Gardai report? Can you also let me know what is the citizenship email address so that I could email them next month to ask for update of my application? Thank you so much.

Guys this thread is for citizenship timeline and not for citizenship questions. Your queries may be deleted here without warning. Anyone that wants to pose any questions should do so in the "Naturalisation Questions" thread.

I wont be able to answer your questions here.

This is a bit late, sorry for not posting straight away! Very pleased that I got my citizenship approved in six months.

Application: 22 June 2012
1st Acknowledgement: July 2012
Letter of Approval: 27 Feb 2013
Documents and payment submitted: Early March 2013
No invitation letter or ceremony date yet.

Based on five years' naturalisation. No criminal or court records, have worked pretty much the entire time. Also, all my documents are originally in English, so perhaps that helped quicken the process.

Thanks to all for the help and support, and good luck to those still waiting!

I actually dont think its six months approval. In fact it took 8 months and 6 days from the day of submission to the day of approval. But congrats anyways :)

I think they might be giving the same reply to everybody purely because they it saves them time looking into each application in detail.

Surely things must be moving at a faster pace.
