Sorry I'm a bit lost here. Are you wanting to settle in the UK? Have you considered a fiance/partner visa? Are you wanting to be in a long term relationship? Article 8 of the ECHR applies to everyone in the UK regardless of their nationality.Caleb wrote:I have been in an online relationship with a naturalized citizen in Scottland for an uninterrupted 4 years, the christmas before last I went to meet her and spent 3 months with her, I then went back last year and spent 5 months with her. Well one thing led to another and I'm expecting my first child this year. She and I love each other and want to get married and spend our lives together in the UK. I would like to know what steps I need to take to make that happen in my circumstances as most sites are vague on the subject. At first I thought the Article 8 Human Rights would help but that only applies to nations in The Council of Europe, to which America is only an observer nation, any help would be appreciated.

Take a look at http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas ... you-apply/
That is one of the two routes available to you. The other is that she flies to the USA (or somewhere else outside the UK) then the two of you get married, then in the USA you apply for a spouse visa. Armed with that spouse visa you then fly to the UK and start living together in the UK.Apply for a fiancee visa from the USA ... get married in the UK ... convert to a spouse visa in the UK.
