ILR Application - Name in passport

Post by chanduk » Sat Mar 16, 2013 9:28 pm

Hi,
I only have single name in my passport, which is my first name. I do not have any surname. However, my employer adds "LNU" in my payslips and P60 has my name as - "First Name" "Father's middle name" "LNU".
I requested HMRC to issue me tax statement for the last 5 yrs with my correct name and they have done so.

I am unsure if this discrepancy in my name how it appears in P60 & payslips would be an issue? or if producing all these documents - payslips, P60s and HMRC tax statement, would be sufficient as my NI number appears on all the 3.

Please can you help?

Thanks and regards.

Thanks sh1981. In the ILR application form, yes I would leave the last name as blank.

I am more worried about the discrepancy in name on P60 and payslips. Will it be an issue? or as my NI number appears on both and evidently is same, will it be ok?

Thanks and regards.

P60 is issued by the employer so I would expect the name should be same as the payslip.
Did you ever ask them the reason for this discrepancy i.e. additional middle name? Is that something you mentioned in your employment papers?

Hi sh1981,
My name in payslips appears different than it is in P60.

Hi Ban.S, No I could not get any explanation. I requested for duplicate P60s to be issued with name inline to that in payslip, but that was declined. I do not have a legal surname, so in my employment papers, I only have mentioned my first name, NO lastname.

Thanks and regards.
