This is a random question.

Can I get a mortgage for a house in England even though I am on Tier 2 Visa?

talk to your bank or mortgage lenders - they will advise next steps and documentations etc.
it's lenders choice to offer mortgage, nothing to do with an immigration status.

If your status is likely to lead to settlement then the lenders should consider it, although they normally want applicants to have ILR.

You'll get mortgage based on your credit history, affordability to pay a certain deposit and nature of property, price and purpose of use. The lender will assess your details and take a decision based on overall risk profile.

Contrary to the popular belief immigration status plays a relatively low role here (except with building societies), otherwise all BC and settled residents would have been home owner.
