my company got the COS and allocating COS tomorrow for me. They dont have much knowledge, i am helping them in filling the form.

I am on Post study work visa valid till August 2013.

SOC code: 2132: Job Type: Programmer.( I hope this is ok)

The things i need to clarify:

Is the job on the current shortage occupation list? Yes/No.
Job Title can be anything? Yes/ No

My company got the license and COS at the start of this month. My company said that the COS is going to expire on April 5th 2013, Now if they allocate the COS before april 5th, can i apply for visa on may or june?

Please answer these questions. And any help on important things which i need to know on filling COS .

Thanks a lot for your prompt replies.

They are giving job title as Web Developer.

But the roles for the Web Developer are different.
As the Web Developer roles will be using internet technologies like designing web pages, writing scrits,---

But still can i come under software professional?

Gross salary and allowances all these optins.. shall i give 26k includinig everything?

My visa expires on August 12th 2013.

I am giving the work dates as

Start Date: August 10th 2013
End Date: August 9th 2016

Is it Ok?

Does the migrant need to leave and reenter uk during the period of approval ? Yes /No

If you are a web designer, your job might come under 2131 IT strategy and planning professionals with a salary of 26000. But make sure your job hours are 37.5 or 40 hrs/week as your salary is exactly 26000. If you work over 37.5 hrs then your salary should be correspondingly higher.

Why do you want to postpone till Aug? If you have all the documents ready, you can put the start date from April or May.

If it is first time for both you and your sponsor, it is advisable to wait for couple of days getting some expert advice from forum gurus or professional help.

I am not a web designer. I am a Junior Developer

Job Title: Junior Developer

My Job Description is:

1) develops the website and applications
2) designs and develops web interfaces for relational database systems
3) writes and publishes content for the website
4) tests website interaction and performance prior to going „live‟, and monitor and maintains functionality of the website

I cant able to find the Job Title and Job Description as I can find only Programmer in Software Professionals.

But the Title and Description for the programmer is different from the developer.

Now what SOC code i have to write and what salary i have to show..

pls.. this is the last thing i need to know..

but Graduate developer is for people who have less than 6 months of experience. but I am working from more than 11 months in this company and 7 months in previous company. I dont think I will be coming under Graduate Developer.

I am working 40 hours, but they will be keeping 37.5 hours.

I discussed with my boss and they told i will be coming under graduate developer as you said before. I am working for the company from more than 11 months. But I worked as support for few months in the same company. After that before 4 months moved to programming side in the same company. So they said you will be coming under Graduate Developer as you have only 4 months of programming experience. I am on post study work visa.

But from the SOC codes, The Graduate Developer states that,

This job function is used to classify all programmers and
developers who essentially have less than six months
commercial experience of programming. This includes new
graduates in IT or related technology degrees

I am on PSW visa and working from 11 months in same company. I am little bit confused of it.

If you are working for 40 hours, then your salary on pro rata will be less than reqd and your visa will be refused. If you maintain 37.5 hrs then you are safe.
